Get beyond your fear of making mistakes. You cannot catch a fish if you don't throw your hook in the water. Sometimes we become paralyzed because of past mistakes. When you understand that mistakes are designed to teach you lessons you might not otherwise learn, you can get pass your fear of making them. Consider this: Bill Gates ignored the idea of the search engine for many years. His ignorance helped Google. Yet he moved beyond any fears he may have had of making another mistake, and the results? Bing!
Zero in on negative thoughts and change them immediately. We tend to be harder on ourselves than others are. But, like a laser focuses all its energy on a specific thing, we have to zero in on our negative thoughts, which unattended become negative words. Self-help experts continue to warn us that our thoughts become things. Consequently, if you want to experience abundant success you have to think it, see, it, and speak it.
Find purpose in the challenges you face. The next time you face a challenge, ask yourself: "What can I learn from this?" Like mistakes, challenges are about growth and change. Remember, nothing exist without a purpose and without a purpose nothing can exist. Search engine giant, Google's co-founders when faced with the challenge of cataloging information on the Internet in such a way for users to easily access were found the purpose in that challenge. Abundantly successful people embrace their challenges because they know there is a greater purpose.
Stay in the now. Your life is happening right now. While there is certainly wisdom you can gain from a brief look at your past, if you stay there too long you'll miss out on creating your future.
Get it done now. The abundantly successful are excellent time managers. They make each moment count. They start what they finish. They plan. They set goals. They get things done. Most importantly, they don't put off for tomorrow what they can get done today.
Become a lifelong learner. Abundantly successful people spend tons of money on books, audio programs, seminars, and training. They do so all in an effort to better themselves. Consider the benefits of lifelong learning: You will adapt easily to change. You find greater meaning in your life. You appreciate others and their contributions more. You become less self-centered and less self-conscious. And the biggest benefit of all is that you enjoy your life more!
Raise your comfort level. I tell seminar and training participants that the comfort zone may be comfortable, but in the long run it turns into a rut. Why? Because there is no more money in your comfort zone, there are no more friends in your comfort zone, and there are no more opportunities in your comfort zone. Why stay in a zone that will negatively impact your productivity, your recognition, and your ability to live your best life?
Be aware of and live by your values. Abundantly successful people know what's important to them, and they can readily identify it. What do you value? Money? Family? Love? Your spiritual self? When you know what makes you happy, you will always live your life accordingly. This means you will experience success on your terms, not someone else's.
Stop complaining when you face an obstacle. Just move on. Whenever I speak to my dear friend Carol and ask her how she's doing, she always responds, "I won't complain." People stay away from chronic complainers. Abundantly successful people examine their complaints and find solutions. Complainers are generally unhappy people who feel like life has dumped on them. They are victims. Now does that sound like a way to achieve abundant success? I think not!
Be grateful for what you have. The Bible says that if we are good stewards over a little we can expect to become stewards over more. Do you start or end each day with an attitude of gratitude? Gratitude attracts happiness, abundance, and success to you like a magnet. The abundantly successful understand this secret: like attracts like. Gratitude and thankfulness act as success conduits, and the more you are grateful, the more you will have to be grateful for.
Is it really possibly to be abundantly successful during a time when unemployment numbers are rising, and foreclosures are at an all-time high? I think so. But, if you're like me, you have to wonder sometimes why it seems like some people have the Midas touch while others have the Sidam touch? According to thefreedicitionary.com, the Midas touch is defined as the ability to make and manage large amounts of money. In contrast, the Urban Dictionary defines the Sidam touch as the ability to screw up any and everything. How can you change your touch from Sidam to Midas? Read on, if you want to know how.
